Junior Cyber Security Engineer

Location: Dublin
Salary: €45,000 – €55,000
Type: Permanent | Full-Time

A growing technology function is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to support ongoing security operations, vulnerability management, and continuous improvement across a broad range of internal systems. You’ll work alongside senior engineers while gradually taking ownership of day-to-day security tasks and contributing to wider security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with vulnerability scanning, reporting, and tracking remediation activity.
• Support onboarding of new applications and services into security tooling.
• Review alerts, investigate lower-tier events, and escalate when required.
• Maintain and update monitoring dashboards, documentation, and internal processes.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to follow up on findings.
• Contribute to periodic audits, compliance activities, and governance reviews.
• Participate in incident response under the guidance of senior staff.
• Assist with light automation or scripting for repeatable tasks.

Skills & Experience

• 1–2 years’ experience in cybersecurity, IT operations, or related technical areas.
• Understanding of common vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and security controls.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or similar).
• Comfortable reviewing logs and basic alert data.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
• Clear communication and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Certifications like Security+, CCNA, or cloud fundamentals are an advantage.
